Zack performed off and on with the CWU Symphony Orchestra throughout his four years, and in December of his senior year he played timpani on Stravinsky’s “The Rite of Spring” in Chicago at the Midwest Clinic (one of the largest band/orchestra conferences in the world). On top of this, Zack spent two years playing drums for Central’s award-winning Jazz Band 1. While in the group, the band won 3 DownBeat awards, with Zack being playing drums on each of these performances.
Zack currently lives in Greeley, CO where he pursues a master’s degree in jazz studies at the University of Northern Colorado. Zack holds a position as a graduate teaching assistant, working under UNCO Director of Jazz Studies Dana Landry, and Professor of Jazz Drums Jim White. Zack has had the opportunity to play percussion with the Greeley All-Stars Jazz Orchestra and the Drew Zaremba Fellowship, where he has gotten to share the stage with Wayne Bergeron, Camille Thurman, and the faculty of the University of Northern Colorado.
